The end of the year often feels like a mix of closure and fresh starts, doesn’t it?
So, let me ask you: Did you set any health intentions or goals for 2024? How did they go?
It’s easy to dwell on what didn’t go as planned, but let’s flip the script. Take a moment to acknowledge yourself—for all the things you did accomplish this year.
Even small wins matter:
- Did you make one tiny habit change?
- Add more movement or try a new exercise?
- Start prioritizing self-care, even in small ways?
- Make a small healthy eating change?
These small steps are powerful because they’re the foundation of lasting change.
Let’s Rethink Resolutions
We’ve all heard plenty of talk about goals and resolutions this time of year. But let’s be honest—when goals go unmet, it can feel frustrating and disheartening. That’s why I prefer to talk about intentions and targets.
Here’s the difference:
- Intentions guide your actions without the pressure of perfection.
- Targets are flexible and allow you to pivot as life happens.
Targets move. They evolve. You’re not failing; you’re adjusting.
For example, I had a target of going to the gym 10 times a month in 2024. But then life happened—specifically, my breast cancer diagnosis. Treatment required deep rest and self-care, so my gym routine shifted. Still, I managed 90 gym visits for the year. I didn’t hit the original target, but I’m celebrating what I did accomplish.
As we move into 2025, take time to reflect and dream
Grab your journal, find a quiet space, and gift yourself the time to explore these questions:
- What went well in 2024? What health or fitness changes did you make, no matter how big or small?
- What are you tolerating that no longer serves you?
- What are you excited about for the year ahead?
- What do you want to create for your health, body, and life?
- What’s holding you back from making those changes?
- What do you need to learn or explore to move forward?
- How are you really doing? Take inventory of your energy, sleep, mood, digestion, metabolism, and hormones.
Health Is a Journey, Not a Straight Line
Ups and downs are part of the process. But when you’re clear on what matters most, you can navigate the curveballs and keep moving forward.
This year, I worked with women who:
- Lost 10, 20, even 25 pounds.
- Regained energy, slept better, and felt amazing in their bodies.
- Got off the blood sugar rollercoaster and found steady energy and focus.
- Developed healthier relationships with food, letting go of emotional eating and stress triggers.
And they did it without diets. Because let’s be real: we’re so over diets.
These transformations came from:
- Sustainable changes, not quick fixes.
- Clear intentions and personalized strategies.
- Digging into the root causes with hormone testing, tailored nutrition, and coaching with accountability.
